In response to the latest news around Meltdown and Spectre.
We have been closely following this vulnerability in collaboration with our vendors. We are monitoring the events closely but we have no reason to believe that there has been an exploit of these vulnerabilities. Unlike other hypervisors the hypervisor used in City Cloud has no known exploits to date. We will patch and secure our cloud as soon as the vendors release their patches. In the meantime we will increase our monitoring for suspect behaviours and prepare what we can for the patching.
The patching may require a reboot of our hypervisor nodes but we’ll will migrate customers running VMs between nodes so it should not affect customers. As a customer we highly recommend that you deploy security measures such as installing anti malware and using best practice security hardening. You should always patch your VMs in a timely fashion regardless of known Vulnerabilities but this is a prime opportunity to remind why you need to patch your VMs.
We will continue to update this status as we get more news from our vendors.
2018-01-24 We are currently running rolling updates in Kna1 datacenter. This can result in very short disturbances while individual virtual servers are live migrated. Should you encounter any issues, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
